The present push on data production in the city area is creating the conditions to start new opportunities that could be conquered by new applications and services. Complexities resides on data aggregation, data warehouse, semantic interoperability, architectures and data analytic to cope with high volume, variety, velocity, veracity, and values of open data, private data, IoT data, people flow data, in several different domains.

The experience of Km4City (http://www.km4city.org/), which is in place in the Florence and Tuscany Area, is reported. The solution is supported by a set of tools for massive and parallel data harvesting (from static to real time data), quality improvement, reconciliation, reasoning, making decision, API, and to pose queries with visual tools.
