Abstract

The recent economic news stories involved a tremendous amount of statistical amusement, including

that statisticians are to blame through triple-A-ing toxics, that many 5-sigma events occured,

that black swans appeared, and that the problem was "stuffing the tail" until it wags the dog,

and that it will get worse as the ARMS reach the elbow.
