Abstract:

The workshop will give an overview over the important, current international standards (ISO and other norms) . Especially the GUM and MSA will be shown in detail. The consequences of those standards for the daily work in R&D will be discussed. Special focus will be given to the question whether each reported measured valued needs an uncertainty value attached to it. Is there a need for an "uncertainty budget" that allows a better evaluation of the quality of reported measurements?
