ENBIS-17 in Naples9 – 14 September 2017; Naples Abstract submission: 21 November 2016 – 17 April 2017
The ENBIS-17 meeting will be held in Naples (Italy) from September 9 to September 14.
Welcome to ENBIS-17
Dear conference participant,
The 17th Annual Conference of the European Network for Business and Industrial Statistics will be hosted by the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Naples Federico II and will take place at the Conference Center of the University of Naples Federico II in Naples (Italy), from 9th to 14th September 2017.
The University of Naples is one of the oldest universities to be founded by a head of State. Frederick II of Hohenstaufen, King of Sicily and Holy Roman Emperor established the University of Naples as the Studium with an Imperial Charter, on June 5, 1224. In recognition of its founder, the university was named Federico II in 1987.
Naples is a real treasure trove of art and history, its center, in particular, encompasses a heritage so rich that it has been designated an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Naples’ millennia-old history is evidenced in palaces, churches, monuments and art galleries, amidst which the Neapolitans carry on their daily lives with their trademark vivacity and creativity. Naples was the capital of the South for centuries and it is naturally the focal point of the superb array of opportunities available to anyone who wants to travel with an open mind and open eyes, in search of new stimuli. The whole history of Naples is based on the concept of welcoming foreigners and of different cultures living side by side.
The atmosphere that pervades Naples can be also felt throughout the extraordinary destinations of its surrounding area where an ancient mystique blends with incomparable natural landscapes: Mount Vesuvius with Pompeii and Herculaneum at its feet, and the wonderful Gulf of Naples enclosed by the Sorrento peninsula, the Amalfi coast and Capri on one side and the Phlegrean Fields with the islands of Ischia and Procida on the other.
Naples and its surrounding area host important industries in manufacturing (automotive: FCA-Fiat Chrysler Automobiles; aircraft: Leonardo and Avio Aero, a GE Aviation Business), shipbuilding (Fincantieri) and food (pasta, wine, coffee, tomato sauce and cheese).
We cordially invite you not only to engage in highly rewarding scientific and professional exchange during the conference, but also to find some leisure time and explore one of the most interesting egion of Italy.
