A special session in honor of Tony Greenfield

Greenfield Challenge Winners and Statistical Education: Reaching out to the Young Generation


This special session, dedicated to Tony, is about communicating the central of role of statistics in daily life, services, industry, businesses and science, with enthusiasm. The focus will be on education in schools and will include first hand testimonials from students and advances in methodology from educational experts. The session will begin by some remarks on Tony's contributions by Ron Kenett. It will be followed by two presentations by young generation representatives and conclude with a methodological presentation by Professor Maria Gabriella Ottaviani and Professor Stefania Mignani. Professor Ottaviani is past president of IASE - the International Association for Statistical Education and Professor Mignani is editor of Induzioni, a unique journal of the Italian Statistical Association dedicated, among other topics, to the teaching of Statistics.
