ENBIS-14 Pre-Conference Course on Design of Experiments with JMP

21 September 2014; 13:00 – 17:00; Johannes Kepler University, Linz, Austria

This ENBIS-14 half-day pre-conference course will be run by Volker Kraft, PhD (JMP Division at SAS Institute GmbH, Heidelberg, Germany).

The course is intended for anyone involved or interested in statistical discovery or experimental design (DOE) who can benefit from an awareness of the latest approaches to statistical design and modeling. No JMP experience or DOE expertise will be assumed. Wherever practically possible, DOE is the tool of choice to learn from data and close the gap between the real world and our understanding of it. By requiring fewer cycles of learning, JMP’s holistic approach to DOE can give you the knowledge you need to make key decisions, more confidently, more quickly and with less experimental effort. In this half-day workshop we will work through two challenging real-world DOE case studies involving the new Definitive Screening Designs. The case studies also demonstrate JMP’s holistic approach, which more tightly integrates DOE with statistical modeling to increase the robustness, efficiency and effectiveness of the process of learning. Attendees will take away DOE examples and best practices, which in many situations can help to reach at better decisions with less effort. JMP Pro 11 will be pre-installed on classroom computers, alternatively you can use your own computer (Windows or Mac) running JMP Pro 11. Volker Kraft will share all course material including JMP files with the attendees during the workshop.
